Eric Braeden’s Pick for Best Adam Newman
The post about the Young and the Restless character gained much traction. One user picked Mark Grossman, saying, “He seems more personable and sensitive. Probably actually capable of Genuine.” They pointed out how the character cares about his children and father, wrapping up with, “Thee Victor Newman!” To which Eric replied, “Liked them all, but MARK is my son NOW! And he is a very good actor!!” Moreover, another user chimed in to compliment Mark and Eric for their excellent on-screen chemistry.
They added, “I think Mark Grossman is terrific in that role, he’s combined the best aspects of the previous Adams into one.” They also thanked Braeden for his performance, writing, “I love you as Victor, and the wonderful Melody as Nikki too.” Subsequently, the Y&R actor gave three thumbs up and a heart emoji to this sweet remark. For those unfamiliar with Mark Grossman, he has become a household name for his portrayal of Adam Newman on the CBS soap.
He took on the role in 2019 and even earned a Daytime Emmy nomination the following year. It was for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. As for his character, Adam Newman is the son of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman). The character first popped on screen on April 24, 1995, but left town two years after his birth. Furthermore, the character was raised by his mum in Kansas and grew up unaware that Victor was his father.
In 2008, Chris Engen started portraying Adam as an adult, but he quit after a year. Then, Michael Muhney took over, but a controversy struck two weeks after his debut. It all began when Adam seduced the male character Rafe Torres (Yani Gellman). Muhney was fired in 2013, making his last appearance on January 30, 2014. Later that year, the soap brought Justin Hartley, who played the role for two more years before leaving on September 1, 2016.
