General Hospital Spoilers: Genie Francis Is Feeling “Lucky” About Jonathan Jackson’s Return
General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that it has been a busy couple of weeks for the soap. Not only did fans find out about Michael Easton’s (Dr. Hamilton Finn) exit days before the character was officially written off the canvas, but it was also revealed that Bryan Craig would be making a one-show return as Morgan Corinthos, and last (but not least), Jonathan Jackson is making a huge comeback as he reprises his legacy role as Lucky Spencer, this summer.
Audiences are excited, and now it seems, so is Jackson’s onscreen mom, Genie Francis, who plays Laura Collins.
General Hospital Spoilers – Genie Francis Chimes In On Jonathan Jackson’s Comeback
Francis hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to comment about Jackson’s return, tweeting, “Dear sweet Jonathan Jackson, this show is so lucky to have you back. I am overjoyed! Can’t wait to work with you again.”
Jackson posted a video on his social media handles last week when he confirmed his return to the land of Port Charles.
While he mentioned being excited about seeing his former castmates, he specifically mentioned Francis by name in the video, noting that he was “excited to see Genie Francis, obviously.”
GH Spoilers – It’s Been A Hot Minute Since Both Actors Have Worked Together
Jackson first started on the show at the young age of 11, entering storylines and working with Francis on GH in 1993.
He exited in 1999, and actor Jacob Young (Bold and the Beautiful’s ex-Rick Forrester) was recast in the role until he left the show in 2003.
That same year, Greg Vaughan (Days of Our Lives’s Eric Brady) was Lucky recast #3 lasting on the daytime drama until 2009.
Later in 2009, Jackson reprised his Lucky Spencer role for a two-year run with the soap; however, Francis was not in the cast at the time.
Lucky returned for a brief stint in 2015 and shared scenes with Genie, which was nice, but now with coming back this summer, it’ll be the first time in 25 years that both Jackson and Genie will be working together again on GH, full-time.
