On July 11, Susan’s birthday, fans witnessed Doug and Julie’s touching farewell on Days of Our Lives. Actor Bill Hayes sadly passed away on January 12, 2024. He shot his last scenes just four weeks before his death, despite having lost his vision by then. The soap icon’s final moments on screen were a testament to his strong legacy on the Peacock soap.
In an interview with Michael Fairman Channel on YouTube, Susan recounted the emotional process of filming those last scenes. Moreover, she reminisced about Bill’s final days. On the soap, Julie tells Doug that Abigail might be alive. Then, they draw parallels to their five-decade-long journey while reflecting on Chad and Abigail’s love story.
